When BankOnPurpose was created in 2016, it was intended to be a conference that wouldn’t seem like a standard banking event. No sessions dissecting obscure back-office procedures and no vendors with presentations that were little more than thinly-veiled sales pitches.
Instead, the goal for the first BankOnPurpose Conference was that it live up to its name. The agenda was filled with speakers and sessions on how to shift the focus back to the customer and their needs, how to build a team, a brand, and a bank … with purpose.
The final – and most important step: Invite the best bankers from around the world to come to the conference so that they could meet, mingle and learn from each other.
The overwhelmingly positive response we received from the inaugural conference has pushed us to make BankOnPurpose 2017 even better. It will return to Austin, with its great restaurants, music and weather. Even more of the nation’s top bankers will be there. So will a new host of speakers who will push you to think differently about banking – how you can build better relationships and a better brand.
Join us, May 3-5, and get ready to BankOnPurpose.
Join us at the Opening Reception for BankOnPurpose! We’ll have drinks and hors d’oeuvres to enjoy while you see old friends and meet new friends.

Do you know what your organization’s purpose is? Do you know how it affects your customers? What about the tough decisions you’re making? Are they in line with your organization’s overall mission?
Joining us for the second year in a row is Lisa McLeod, creator of the business concept “Noble Purpose,” and she has the answers to these questions.
In this session, Lisa will share tactics on aligning a strategy behind your organization’s purpose. She’ll share stories about companies and leaders who made tough, sometimes counter-intuitive choices, that propelled their organizations’ growth. Your customers aren’t coming to you because they actually want a loan. They’re coming to you because they want what the loan will help them do – maybe it’s to start a business or even keep their existing business running smoothly. Understanding the “why” behind your customers’ desires is key to better serving them. And, knowing this is the difference between maintaining strong, lasting relationships and watching them walk out the door.
In this session, Bob Moesta and Chris Spiek, pioneers and now educators of the “Jobs-To-Be-Done” framework, will share how to dig deeper to understand why your customers hire and why they fire. Learn how to uncover what it is your customers actually need – the job – and how you can help them – the solution. These insights will give you the tools to treat the loans you produce less like a commodity and more like a service.10:35 AM
